Visible mending has well and truly left its mark on the world of knitwear. With the likes of the fantastic Orsola de Castro and Collingwood-Norris, more of us (including Second Cashmere!) are choosing to make a statement with our repair work, rather than just hiding it away.

So we thought, why not run a session on how to get started with visibly mending your knitwear? Whether it’s embroidery you’re into, pops of colour or maybe even a little dog tooth, come along and join us at Bawn Textiles in the Southside of Glasgow - simply a pick a date that suits you best!

All fibres welcome and all equipment and materials will be provided by us! So all you need to do is bring yourself and the item or items you want to mend.

Venue: Bawn Textiles, 613 Pollokshaws Rd, Glasgow G41 2QG.

Cancellation policy: If you would like to cancel your place, we ask you to do so with at least one week’s notice so we can fill your spot in time. Any cancellations made within 48 hours before the session can not be refunded, instead your space can be transferred to another date.

  • Our Measurements

We stock cashmere from multiple brands so sizes can vary. Before purchasing, we recommend measuring yourself to determine the fit of the garment on your body. While we list our pieces using the brand specific sizes, we also provide the shown measurements. If you're ever unsure of sizes, take a look at our Sizing Guide.

  • Artisanal Handcraft

We use reclaimed cashmere yarns and artisanal mending techniques such as Swiss darning to repair and restore our cashmere.

  • The Power of Secondhand

By shopping secondhand, you're reducing your wardrobe's carbon footprint by choosing to divert thousands of tonnes of textile waste from landfills and incineration.

  • Buy Back Scheme

If you decide to part ways with your cashmere, we offer a Buy Back Service for any cashmere you've bought from our collections. In exchange, we'll give 10% off your next purchase.

  • Recyclable Packaging

All our packaging is sourced from suppliers who specialise in eco-friendly materials and is made from either 100% recycled, recyclable and/or compostable materials.

  • Cashmere Care

Cashmere is at its best when washed by hand, but if you trust your washing machine, choose a cold wash with little to no spin. Air dry your cashmere flat, never tumble dry.

  • A Social Conscious

For fashion to thrive, people need to thrive. From our highly skilled menders and makers to our experienced in-house team, we go beyond the National Living Wage.
